The game control device of an embodiment is equipped with: a storage means for storing player character ability scores associated with identification information for each player; a first match-executing means for executing a first match, triggered by an operation input into a communication terminal, between player characters associated with different player identification information and determining the outcome of the first match on the basis of the ability scores of the player characters stored by the storage means; a character ability-renewing means for renewing the player character ability scores corresponding to the player identification information on the basis of the outcome of the first match and storing in the storage means; and a second match-executing means for automatically executing a second match, in parallel with the first match, between player characters associated with different player identification information without being triggered by an operation input into a communication terminal and determining the outcome of the second match on the basis of the ability scores for the player characters stored by the storage means.
