<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enables continuous printing in a liquid ejection device when an irreparable nozzle is occurred while informing the occurrence to an operator. <P>SOLUTION: In an inkjet printer, after integrated determination including nozzle ejection tests is executed, if an abnormal nozzle is found in the integrated determination, cleaning using a wiper or suction by a nozzle is executed, and then the integrated determination is executed again. This procedure is repeated for a predetermined times. When the times of repetition of the integrated determination have reached a predetermined number (YES in S30), whether the same nozzle is determined as an abnormal nozzle each time in the integrated determination is decided (step S32), and when the decision is affirmative, a message which informs that an irreparable nozzle is brought about is output to an operator, as well as stoppage of printing is compulsory canceled while setting the nozzle as a nozzle to be masked which is deemed to be favorably ejectable in the procedure described above and image formation by a head is permitted in the next and succeeding times (S38 to S42). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
