<p>A transliteration device (100) is provided with a generation unit (105) that generates the following: rewrite tables that correspond to K different languages and contain a plurality of rewrite probabilities, each being the probability that a given source fragment will be rewritten as a given transliteration fragment in order to perform transliteration; and transliteration tables that also correspond to the aforementioned K languages. The transliteration device (100) is also provided with an update unit (107) that: saves, in the transliteration table corresponding to the language corresponding to the used rewrite table, the probability that a source-spelling string in said language will be transliterated to a given target-spelling string; and then updates the K rewrite tables so as to maximize the expected value of a likelihood function that computes the likelihoods of the K transcription tables.</p> |
