<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cooling method of a butt welding portion and a device thereof, which can perform nondestructive inspection of a next process quickly, by performing forced cooling of a steel butt welding portion on a laying vessel, and is capable of cooling the welding portion efficiently in a limited space on the vessel. <P>SOLUTION: The cooling device has a semicircle concave portion 11 into which a cylindrical steel pipe Pb is fitted; a pair of halved casing portions 12A formed to be box like as a whole is made to come close mutually; the welded portion of the steel pipe is positioned between these halved casing portions 12; they are relatively moved to come close; the opposedly facing portions 12AA of the mutual halved casing portions are butted to enclose the welded portion of the interior steel pipe, then, cooling water is sprayed toward the welded portion of the steel pipe in the casings 12 through a spray nozzle. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
