<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lens drive device, an autofocus camera and a mobile terminal device with camera capable of detecting a position in the direction XY orthogonal to an optical axis in a lens supporting body that is small sized and having a simple composition. <P>SOLUTION: A lens supporting body 5 includes: a first coil 19 wound along the outer periphery of the lens supporting body 5; at least two second coils 16a, 16b arranged with a spacing of 90 degrees in the circumferential direction of an outer periphery for moving the lens supporting body in the direction X-Y orthogonal to the optical axis direction; a position detection magnet for direction X 43; and a position detection magnet for direction Y 45. In this case, a yoke 3 includes a magnet for driving 17 for the lens supporting unit 5. A base 8 includes a magnetic detection element for direction X 49 facing the position detection magnet for direction X 43 and a position detection element for direction Y 51 facing the position detection magnet for direction Y 45.
