<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an upgrading method and device of the function of a biological information monitor, which reduce the delay of the processing time of signals and/or enabling the waveform of biological information detected by a sensor to be observed using a monitor body. <P>SOLUTION: The biological signal processor 4 includes functions of a sensor and a monitor body 3. The upgrading method includes in the upgrading device 5: a step of analyzing and calculating digital data and/or analog data received from the biological signal processor 4 and obtaining second measurement value data and second biological signal waveform corresponding to the second measurement value data; and a step of sending out the second measurement value data and the second biological signal waveform corresponding to the second measurement value data to the monitor body as analog signals.
