COMPOSITION FOR ENTERIC HARD CAPSULE AND ENTERIC HARD CAPSULE PREPARED THEREOF

PURPOSE: A composition for enteric hard capsules and an enteric hard capsule manufactured by using the same are provided to enhance mechanical strength and transparency and to delay the salting out. CONSTITUTION: A composition for enteric hard capsules comprises 50-90 parts by weight of hydroxypropyl methylcellulose phthalate(HPMCP), 10-50 parts by weight of hydroxypropyl methylcellulose(HPMC), 0.1-2.5 parts by weight of water-soluble divalent base, and 3.5-7.5 parts by weight of extra alkaline chemicals. The content of each component is based on the sum total 100 parts by weight of the HPMC and the HPMCP. The HPMCP comprises 20-24 wt% of methoxy group, 6-10 wt% of hydroxy propoxy group, and 21-26 wt% of phthalyl, and has the dynamic viscosity of 48~66cSt. The water-soluble divalent base includes calcium hydroxide. The extra alkaline chemicals comprise ammonia, NaOH, potassium hydroxide or a combination thereof. The composition additionally includes 1-5 parts by weight of plasticizer based on the sum total 100 parts by weight of the HPMC and HPMCP. The composition additionally includes 0.05-0.5 parts by weight of emulsifier based on the sum total 100 parts by weight of the HPMC and HPMCP.
