<p>PURPOSE: A forged roll meeting the requirements of cold rolling industry and a method for manufacturing the same are provided to improve resistance against fire crack and reduce crack propagation in a forged roll. CONSTITUTION: A method for manufacturing a forged roll meeting the requirements of cold rolling industry comprises the steps of: preparing a steel composition which comprises C of 0.8-1 weight%(1 is exclusive), Mn of 0.2-0.5 weight%, Si of 0.2-2.0 weight%, Cr of 7.0-13.0 weight%, Mo of 0.6-1.6 weight%, V of 1.0-3.0 weight%(1.0 is exclusive), and Fe and impurities of the remaining amount(14), preparing ingot at constant solidification speed over 15°C/min(16), forging the ingot into a roll(18), solidifying the roll through high-frequency induction heating(24), and tempering the roll at a temperature of 450-530°C to have a hardness of 780-840HV(26).
