The bending tool has upper bending tool (1) and a lower bending tool (2). The upper bending tool has punches (6,8) comprising respective bending edges (7,9), that are provided along same working direction (4) facing a center plane (18). A recliner assembly (45) is provided for adjusting upper and lower bending tools relative to each other along parallel direction of center plane. A V-shaped die (33) is formed between bending edges of bending punches. The bending punches are locked in a stamping position (16) in which the bending edges of bending punches are arranged relative to one another. An independent claim is included for method for forming workpiece.
