<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel cell system which always enables stable power supply by rapidly detecting a fuel deprived state at a fuel housing part, and provide electronic equipment. <P>SOLUTION: The fuel cell system has a fuel cell main body 1 having a fuel cell power generation part 101 to constitute an electromotive part, a fuel housing part 102 to house a liquid fuel, and an electro-osmotic flow pump 104 to control transportation of the liquid fuel from the fuel housing part 102 to the fuel cell power generation part 101, has an auxiliary power source 4 charged by the power generation output of the fuel cell main body 1, a fuel supply control circuit 5 to which the auxiliary power source 4 is connected as the power source and which supplies a drive current against the electro-osmotic flow pump 104, and a state detecting part 7 which detects a drive current that is supplied from the fuel supply control circuit 5 to the electro-osmotic flow pump 104 and which detects the deprived state of the liquid fuel at the fuel housing part 102 by the drive current.
