PURPOSE: An apparatus for constructing a WLAN(wireless local area network) AP(access point) map and a method thereof are provided to construct a WLAN AP map using wireless signal information collected from user terminals. CONSTITUTION: A server(100) receives wireless signal information collected from a plurality of user terminals(104-1~104-3). The wireless signal information includes the signal strength of WLAN APs(102-1~102-3). The server estimates the distance to each WLAN AP using the wireless signal information. The server constructs the WLAN AP map using the estimated distances. A distance between a first and a second WLAN AP is estimated using the estimated distance. [Reference numerals] (AA) Network
