PURPOSE: A rail pad for a railroad is provided to prevent solid foreign materials from flowing into the spaces between multiple shock absorbing protrusions formed on the surfaces of the rail pad. CONSTITUTION: A rail pad(10) for a railroad comprises a base plate(12) and a barrier(18). The base plate is formed between a sleeper and a base of a rail and is composed of an elastic material. Multiple circular or elliptical shock absorbing protrusions(14) are formed on the surfaces of the base plate, and spaces(16) are formed between the shock absorbing protrusions. The barrier is integrally formed on the edge of the base plate and prevents foreign materials flowing into the spaces between the shock absorbing protrusions.
