PURPOSE: A device for regulating the width of an ultrasonic beam and a method for setting an installation position thereof are provided to extend the width of the ultrasonic beam with a beam width extending unit, thereby measuring an exact flow rate even through a rotary current is generated in the inside of a pipe. CONSTITUTION: A device for regulating the width of an ultrasonic beam comprises an ultrasonic transmitting unit(10) and a beam width extending unit(20). The ultrasonic transmitting unit is joined to one end part of a sensor of an ultrasonic flow meter, thereby transmitting the beam width of the ultrasonic being generated by the sensor while being uniformly maintained. The beam width extending unit extends the beam width of the ultrasonic being transmitted from the ultrasonic transmitting unit.
