A server having a processor and memory is configured to share data synchronously with multiple remote clients and to store the data in a data structure comprising a tree of data nodes each associated with a list of client subscriptions and with Quality of Service, QoS, parameters for each subscribed client. The Qos parameters comprise at least a priority level, relative to other nodes, for the transfer of the data between that node and the subscribed client. The data structure may be hierarchical and may be analogous to an XML document. Facilitates collaborative data sharing over an IP network.
