PURPOSE: A method for grinding a glass panel is provided to prevent image distortion or color unevenness on a glass substrate for flat panel display because the unevenness of the ground surface of a glass panel with a height of 0.3 micron meters or less is decreased less than 0.05 micron meters. CONSTITUTION: A method for grinding a glass panel is as follows. A glass panel(G) is manufactured by pouring molten glass into a hot tinning bath. The glass panel has a thickness of 0.7mm or less, one side length of 1000mm or more, and a Young's module of 65GPa or more. An un-ground surface of the glass panel is kept by a glass holding member(16). The unevenness with a height of 0.3 micron meters or less formed on a ground surface of the glass panel is ground by a grinding tool(26) and is decreased to 0.05 micron meters or less, thereby manufacturing a glass substrate for flat panel display. |
