<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a developing device capable of eliminating troubles such as an abnormal image due to an excessive decrease in the amount of developer by controlling a discharge amount by estimating a supply amount of the developer in the developing device, and an image forming apparatus using the same. <P>SOLUTION: The developing device includes a discharge port 94 that supplies the developer comprising a toner and a carrier to the inside of the developing device and, with a change in the volume of the developer to be supplied to the inside of the developing device, discharges the increased developer. The developing device further includes means (a carrier density sensor 205) for detecting a carrier density in a developer supply device that estimates a carrier supply amount to the inside of the developing device 4 from the carrier density and a supply time and controls a rotating speed or a rotating time of each of a developer bearing body (a developer roller 5) and a developer conveying member (a supply screw 8) according to the estimated value. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
