<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a short arc type xenon lamp which can radiate ultraviolet light having a wavelength of 200-225 nm with high intensity. <P>SOLUTION: The short arc type xenon lamp has a luminous tube, and positive and negative electrodes arranged in the luminous tube to face each other. The luminous tube is filled with xenon having a pressure of 5 atm or higher, and mercury. The amount of mercury filling the luminous tube is 0.1-4.0 mg/cm<SP POS="POST">3</SP>, and a relation 0.6<M×L<32 is satisfied, when the amount of mercury filling the luminous tube is M (mg/cm<SP POS="POST">3</SP>) and the shortest distance between the tip of the negative electrode and the inner surface of the luminous tube is L (mm). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
