<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotary compressor demonstrating high efficiency even when low capacity is required (when a load is small), thus improving the efficiency thereof. <P>SOLUTION: The rotary compressor 100 includes a compression mechanism 3, a motor 2, an intake path 14, a return path 16, a variable volume mechanism 30, an inverter 42, and a control section 44. The return path 16 has a role of returning working fluid from a working chamber 25 to the intake path 14. The variable volume mechanism 30 has a role of varying the intake volume of the compression mechanism 3. The variable volume mechanism 30 and the inverter 42 are controlled to compensate decrease of the intake volume with increase of rotating speed of the motor 2. Defining the diameter of a return port working as an inlet of the return path 16 as Db and the diameter of a compression discharge port 29 as Dd, a relationship of Db≤Dd is met. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
