<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To advance reduction of energy use by reducing excessive operation time of a heater in washing a small amount of clothes. <P>SOLUTION: When a warm water washing operation for performing a washing operation with washing water held in a water tub 19 heated is started, the amount of laundry placed in a rotary drum 17 is measured to be classified into any of at least three levels of laundry amount, so as to set heating time of heating means (heater) 50 to be shorter as the laundry amount is smaller. Therefore, particularly when a small amount of laundry is to be washed, an operation time of the heating means (heater) 50 may be optimized in accordance with the amount of laundry, and hence, an excessive operation time of the heating means (heater) 50 may be reduced in washing a small amount of laundry, so as to advance reduction of energy use. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
