<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus that uses permissible power of a commercial power supply during image formation more effectively than before, and efficiently supplies power to a fixing and heating device. <P>SOLUTION: An IH control unit 41 controls power supply to an excitation coil 43 in the following manner: when an upper limit power calculated by an upper limit power calculation unit 513 falls below a fixing power calculated by a fixing power calculation unit 511, the IH control unit 41 sets the upper limit power as a target value for supplying power to the excitation coil 43; and when the upper limit power calculated by the upper limit power calculation unit 513 remains equal to or larger than the fixing power calculated by the fixing power calculation unit 511, the IH control unit 41 sets the fixing power calculated by the fixing power calculation unit 511 as the target value for supplying power to the excitation coil 43. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
