<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light emitting element which prevents the deterioration of a reflection film due to heat and environment, simplifies the manufacturing processes, and drastically improves the running cost by improving a thin film formation method of the reflection film reflecting light emitted from the light emitting element and having a role of an electrode, and to provide a manufacturing method of the light emitting element. <P>SOLUTION: A light emitting element 1 includes: a light emitting layer 30, a translucent substrate 20, and a reflection film 10 reflecting light emitted from the light emitting layer in this order, and the reflection film 10 includes metal nanoparticles.
