<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce power consumption of an electronic apparatus (a BD recorder) by properly controlling a power supply so that the electronic apparatus is prevented from remaining powered on even when receiving a command that the apparatus can be powered off from another electronic apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: An electronic apparatus comprises a state detection unit which detects whether a state of the apparatus is active or inactive. Moreover, a recording end detection unit is provided which detects the end of recording.
