<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a relay device that can shorten a communication interruption time of end-to-end at the time of occurrence of failure. <P>SOLUTION: A relay device comprises: an ERP module 15 for performing processing based on the ERP, an OSPF module 11 for generating route information on each destination by OSPF route calculation processing; a failure point locating module 14 for detecting a failure point of the failure detected by the ERP module 15; and an ECMP switching unit which updates a route table in a way that the failure point becomes a next transfer destination and a route to a destination an ECMP exists is switched to another ECMP route to the destination, and which notifies the OSPF module 11 of the failure point.
