<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming unit capable of forming high quality images stably. <P>SOLUTION: An image forming unit comprises: a photoreceptor 1; a rotation shaft 53 fixed to the photoreceptor 1 to rotate with the photoreceptor 1; a cleaning blade 41 that removes unnecessary matter remaining on an outer peripheral surface of the photoreceptor 1; and a driving mechanism that rotates and moves the photoreceptor 1 reciprocally in the direction of the rotation shaft.
