<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a "solid object detection device and a solid object detection method" for reducing erroneous determination that a still object is an approaching object. <P>SOLUTION: A solid object detection device includes: single imaging means 2 arranged in a mobile object; solid object detection means 4 for repeating detection of a solid object and creation of a detection image corresponding to the solid object based on a pick-up image of imaging means 2; and approaching object determination means 6 for performing approaching object determination based on differential area between the latest detection image and the previous detection image, in which the approaching object determination means 6 does not immediately determines, even when the differential area increases, that the solid object is an approaching object only this fact, and determines that the solid object is the approaching object after it becomes clear that the mobile object is not under movement, or the mobile object is under the movement, however, variation of the differential area is not equal to or more than threshold variation. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
