<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a smoke tester configured to heat and atomize smoking material supplied to supply means so as to be used for the operation test of a smoke detector. <P>SOLUTION: In a smoke tester configured to atomize smoking material 33 stored in a tank section 32, and to discharge the smoking material 33 in a mist form to a smoke detector SD for performing an operation test, porous core material 34 is inserted into the tank section 32, and a coil heater 35 as heating means is wound around the core material 34.
