<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the number of flow entries of a flow switch in a flow control system. <P>SOLUTION: An edge switch in a core NW stores, for each flow into the core NW, an ID (switch instance ID) of the edge switch connected to an external device 30 that becomes a destination of the flow. Furthermore, a core switch comprises a flow entry of the flow with the switch instance ID as flow identification information. When a flow addressed to the external device 30 is received, a destination MAC address of the flow is rewritten into the switch instance ID of the edge switch connected to the external device 30. The core switch then uses the switch instance ID to transfer the flow within the core NW to reach the edge switch connected to the external device 30.
