FIELD: chemistry. ^ SUBSTANCE: oxidation of a 1-hydroxyethane-1,1-diphosphonic acid anion in aqueous solution is carried out through treatment with chromium (+6) compounds in an acidic medium in the presence of a catalyst - a soluble vanadium compound. The preferred version of the method uses chromium (+6) which is part of liquid electroplating wastes. The soluble vanadium compound preferably used is a vanadium (+5) or (+4) compound in concentration of 0.0001-0.5 mol/l in amount of 0.01-1.5 mol per 1 mol of 1-hydroxyethane-1,1-diphosphonic acid anion. ^ EFFECT: method ensures almost complete conversion of the 1-hydroxyethane-1,1-diphosphonic acid anion to orthophosphate. ^ 6 cl, 6 dwg, 3 ex |
