PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing apparatus, image processing method, and image processing program which can stop iterative filtering with appropriate timing in a process of the iterative filtering for an image.

SOLUTION: The disclosure provides an image processing apparatus and method. The image processing apparatus includes: a filter for performing an iterative filtering on an input image; and an iterative filtering stopping device for determining whether to stop the iterative filtering according to a variation speed, accompanied with the number of iterations, of the filtered image obtained from each iteration of the iterative filtering.
