<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a braking control device for a vehicle and a braking control method for the vehicle, which can properly start auxiliary control for assisting an increase in a braking force exerted on a wheel on the basis of a driver's braking operation, without reference to a load applied to the vehicle. <P>SOLUTION: An electronic control unit (ECU) for a brake acquires a vehicle load WW (step S142), and sets a starting time determination criterion value KT2 higher in the case of the heavy load WW than in the case of the light load WW (step S144).
