<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink cartridge provided with an annunciation means by which a printer can reliably recognize the state of the ink cartridge by signals of infrared light by an infrared light transmitter without false recognition and a user can reliably recognize the state of the ink cartridge by signals by a visible light transmitter without having an influence on the recognition by the printer. <P>SOLUTION: The ink cartridge 1 is provided with: an infrared light transmitter 15 for a light receiving section which transmits infrared light having wavelengths longer than those of visible light; and a visible light transmitter 17 for visual recognition which transmits visible light. The infrared light transmitter for the light receiving section emits infrared light and the printer determines in what state the ink cartridge is. On the other hand, since the visible light transmitter for visual recognition is so configured that it transmits visible light whose wavelength is close to that of the color of each ink cartridge, the user can clearly recognize what is the color of the cartridge issuing annunciation. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
