<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that accurate detection of position gap is not achieved through a pupil division system. <P>SOLUTION: A defocus quantity detection device in this invention comprises: an image data input part for reading pupil division data of pupil division pixels and whole pupil data of imaging pixels around them from an imaging element where the pupil division pixels are arrayed in part of the two-dimensionally-arranged imaging pixels; a whole pupil data generation part for generating whole pupil data at each pupil division pixel position in an interpolating manner from the whole pupil data of the imaging pixels read by the image data input part; a position gap detection part for detecting each position gap quantity between the whole pupil data at each pupil division pixel position that is generated in an interpolating manner by the whole pupil data generation part and the whole pupil data of the imaging pixels, and the pupil division data read from the pupil division pixels; and a defocus quantity calculation part for obtaining a defocus quantity in accordance with the position gap quantity detected by the position gap detection part. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
