<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an engine testing apparatus capable of corresponding to tests of ring gears of various sizes and capable of suppressing engine test measurement errors. <P>SOLUTION: An engine testing apparatus 100 includes a drive part 60, a chuck part 20 and an elastic member 38. The drive part 60 rotates a main shaft 50. The chuck part 20 grasps a ring gear 15 and is connected to the main shaft 50 to rotate the ring gear 15 in accordance with the rotation of the main shaft 50. The chuck part 20 has a pawl part 21 for grasping the ring gear 15. An area in contact with the ring gear 15 in the pawl part 21 is a flat shape.
