<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polymer flocculant capable of reducing the water content of a cake after dehydration by forming a stronger flock using a small amount of addition. <P>SOLUTION: The polymer flocculant includes a water-soluble polymer (A) that meets the following relational expression: 0.1≤CE2/CE1≤0.9. (In the formula, CE1 represents a measured value of colloid equivalent (cation colloid equivalent and/or anion colloid equivalent) in pure water and CE2 represents a measured value of colloid equivalent in a 0.05 wt% Na<SB POS="POST">2</SB>SO<SB POS="POST">4</SB>aqueous solution.) The water-soluble polymer (A) is formed when a water-soluble monomer having one unsaturated group and at least one kind of hydrophobic monomer selected from the group consisting of a (meth)acryloyl base-containing compound having one unsaturated group and an aromatic ring-containing vinyl compound having one unsaturated group are polymerized in the presence of an amphiphilic compound (c). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
