<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a linear motor that can improve the detection accuracy and the reliability without sacrificing the stroke of a mover. <P>SOLUTION: In a linear motor 1 including a magnetic field 2 and an armature 5, an armature coil 7 is composed of two coil groups of coils 7a having a small number of turns and coils 7b having a large number of turns. The coil height H1 of the coils 7a having a small number of turns in the direction orthogonal to the driving direction of the armature is set to be lower than the coil height H2 of the coils 7b having a large number of turns. Besides, a magnetic pole detector 9, which has hall elements detecting an initial magnetic pole position, is provided below the undersurfaces of the coils 7a having a small number of turns. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
