<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for quenching a steel pipe, with which a strength characteristic in the longitudinal direction of the steel pipe can be uniformed. <P>SOLUTION: In the quenching method, when the steel pipe 1 is quenched by injecting the quenching water onto the outer peripheral surface of the steel pipe 1 by inclining to a conveying direction while conveying the heated steel pipe 1 along the longitudinal direction, a lid 2 is fitted to the opening end of the bottom part 1a as the rear end part in the conveying direction of the steel pipe 1, and under such conditions, the conveyance of the steel pipe 1 and the injection of the quenching water are performed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
