PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To generate an appropriate event associated with an intuitive operation while surely avoiding the generation of an unintended event when performing one-handed operation.

SOLUTION: An input device (105) includes: a housing (100) having such a dimension that can be substantially put on a palm; a right-side pressure sensor group (101) provided on the right-side face of the housing; a left-side pressure sensor group (102) provided on the left-side face of the housing; determination means (103) determining the moving direction of the thumb holding the housing; and event generating means (104) generating the event according to the determination result of the determination means.
