<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink jet type image forming apparatus requiring a conveyance stopping operation of a conveyance belt during printing of images configured to have a driving connection constitution for more easily attaching/detaching and replacing a conveyance belt unit and prevent lowering of paper stop position accuracy due to driving backlash generated during the attaching/detaching and replacement. <P>SOLUTION: This image forming apparatus includes: a gear 101 provided in the conveyance belt unit 115 attachable/detachable to/from a device body 1; an idler gear 102 which is engaged with the gear 101, constitutes a gear connection part and is provided in a device driving system when the conveyance belt unit 115 is attached to the device body 1; a normally rotating and reversing motor 113 connected to the idler gear 102 to rotate the idler gear 102; an oscillation mechanism 110 for pressing, displacing and oscillating the idler gear 102 by fixed force in a direction engaged with the gear 101 when the conveyance belt unit 115 is attached to the device body 1; and control means 121 for controlling the motor 113 to eliminate backlash generated in the gear connection part, or the like. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
