<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cushioning body capable of mitigating an impact applied to an article in the package of the article, and a package. <P>SOLUTION: For a package 1, a product 10 is packed using a plurality of air mats 100 inside a packing box 11. The air mat 100 includes cushioning members 110 and 120 and a communication part 130. In the inside of the cushioning members 110 and 120, air chambers 111a and 121a are provided, respectively. The air chambers 111a and 121a communicate with each other via a communication part 130. On inclined surfaces 113 and 123 of cushioning member bodies 111 and 121, soft members 112 and 122 are arranged, respectively. Hardness of the material of the soft members 112 and 122 is higher than that of the material of the cushioning member bodies 111 and 121.
