PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the use of a compound useful as a human hepatitis C virus RNA replication inhibitor or a therapeutic agent for human hepatitis C virus infectious diseases and a method of screening the compound.

SOLUTION: N-acetylglucosamine acts to inhibit the RNA replication of human hepatitis C virus and accordingly, is useful as a human hepatitis C virus RNA replication inhibitor, a therapeutic agent for human hepatitis C virus infectious disease or the like, and the use of an N-acetylglucosamine derivative using N-acetylglucosamine as a lead compound enables screening of the human hepatitis C virus RNA replication inhibitor and the human hepatitis C virus infectious disease therapeutic agent.
