<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a piezoelectric vibrator whose size, height, and cost are reduced while maintaining its electrical characteristic at a conventional level. <P>SOLUTION: A piezoelectric vibrator 1 comprises: a piezoelectric vibration element 13; an insulating substrate 4 for mounting the piezoelectric vibration element 13; and a lid member 30. The piezoelectric vibration element 13 comprises: a piezoelectric substrate 15; excitation electrodes 17a and 17b disposed on a front surface and a rear surface of the piezoelectric substrate 15; and lead electrodes 18a and 18b extending from the excitation electrodes 17a and 17b toward an end portion of the piezoelectric substrate 15. The monolayer insulating substrate 4 comprises: an LTCC substrate 5; element mounting pads 7a and 7b and a plurality of mounting terminals 8 formed on a front surface and a rear surface of the LTCC substrate 5; and a plurality of via electrodes 6 formed to pass through the LTCC substrate 5 and conductively connect the element mounting pads 7a and 7b and the plurality of mounting terminals 8 to each other, with the element mounting pads 7a and 7b being formed in areas spaced apart from an end edge of the piezoelectric vibration element 13. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
