<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manhole which can be opened by spreading and revolving a body cover, the manhole comprising a receiving frame with a cover receiving part provided on the inner side of a wall-like part, the body cover to be fitted in the receiving frame and mounted on the cover receiving part, and a connection member for connecting the receiving frame and the body cover with each other. <P>SOLUTION: A connection member 30 comprises a lower cylindrical shaft part 31, an upper prism-like shaft part 32, a spreading shaft part 33 protruding outward at the upper end of the prism-like shaft part 32, and a pin 34 protruding from each of both faces of the spreading shaft part 33. In a cover receiving part 14 of a receiving frame 10, a shaft hole part 15 is provided penetrating through the receiving part 14 to make the cylindrical shaft part 31 and the prism-like shaft part 32 of the connection member 30 reciprocatable in a vertical direction and in one-side lateral direction and hardly movable in another lateral direction.
