<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an input device to which a user can input data with soft touch and in which the position of a virtual button can freely be set on the load input surface thereof to the operator's liking, and a method for setting the virtual button. <P>SOLUTION: An input device 1 comprises: a capacitance type surface sensor 3; a skin part 20 having a load input surface 200 disposed at least on one face in the thickness direction of the capacitance type surface sensor 3 and made of an elastic material; and an operation part 52 that calculates surface pressure distribution on the load input surface 200 from a change in capacitance of detection parts A0101 to A0612 that are pressed via the load input surface 200, and outputs information based on the surface pressure distribution. An operator presses the load input surface 200 on the skin part 20 in advance according to an action that the operator wants to input, which causes the operation part 52 to output information and, based on the information, a virtual button for starting the action is set on a pressing portion of the load input surface 200. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
