<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel cell system capable of securing a sufficient power generation amount while achieving space saving as well as reduced size and lightened weight. <P>SOLUTION: A fuel cell system 2 includes: a fuel cell 3 to/from which liquid fuel is fed/discharged; a volume-variable feed fuel tank 35 in which the liquid fuel fed to the fuel cell 3 is reserved; a volume-variable discharge fuel tank 36 in which the liquid fuel discharged from the fuel cell 3 is reserved; a fuel feed line 37 through which the liquid fuel is transported from the feed fuel tank 35 to the fuel cell 3; and a fuel discharge line 38 through which the liquid fuel is transported from the fuel cell 3 to the discharge fuel tank 36.
