<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a laser scanning optical device which can shorten a starting time period after temporary stoppage of a polygon drive motor. <P>SOLUTION: The laser scanning optical device includes a light source radiating a laser beam, an amount of light varying unit for varying the amount of light of the laser beam, a polygon mirror performing deflection scanning of the laser beam radiated from the light source, a motor rotating the polygon mirror, a detector for detecting the counter electromotive force of the motor, a synchronizing signal output device for outputing a horizontal synchronizing signal by detecting the deflection scanned laser beam by means of a light receiving element, and a controller for controlling rotation of the motor based on the horizontal synchronizing signal. The controller detects the counter electromotive force when the motor is started, and when the counter electromotive force is generated (NO at step S1), controls the amount of light varying unit to adjust the amount of light of the laser beam according to the counter electromotive force (step S9, S10). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
