<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively prevent the generation of separation failures when a recording sheet after electrostatic transfer of an unfixed image is conveyed to a separation position after preliminarily heated on a belt driven to perform a circulating motion. <P>SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus electrostatically transfers an unfixed image on a recording sheet, conveys the recording sheet to a separation position by making the sheet electrostatically adsorb to an outer peripheral surface of an endless belt 39 driven to perform a circulating motion, and thermally fixes the image after separating the recording sheet at the separation position. The image forming apparatus comprises: a separation roller 38b which is provided in a position corresponding to the separation position and separates the recording sheet from the belt by inflecting a running path of the belt 39; a preliminary heating device 301 which is provided in the upstream side of the separation roller 38b and heats the unfixed image on the recording sheet from the outer peripheral surface side of the belt 39; and separation assistance means 38e which is provided in the downstream side of the preliminary heating device 301 and assists the separation of the recording sheet by encouraging the recording sheet to peel off the belt 39 when the recording sheet is conveyed to the separation position. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
