<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provided an auxiliary flame retardant for imparting high flame-retardant properties to a vinyl chloride resin when used concurrently with a small amount of an antimony trioxide. <P>SOLUTION: The auxiliary flame retardant is produced by combining, at a mass ratio of 1:1 to 4:1, zinc borate having 3.5 H<SB POS="POST">2</SB>O crystal water, and at least one inorganic microparticle selected from among talc having an average diameter of less than 12 μm, bentonite, dolomite hydroxide and sedimentary rocks. High flame-retardant properties is achieved when the auxiliary flame retardant in an amount of 1-3.1 mass% relative to the total amount is added to a vinyl chloride resin composition comprising a vinyl chloride resin, an antimony trioxide, and a plasticizer. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
