PURPOSE: An electrode rod holding apparatus for an electric furnace is provided to ensure safety against arc because a cylinder for fixing an electrode rod is inserted into a holder body. CONSTITUTION: An electrode rod holding apparatus for an electric furnace comprises a holder(10) including a cylinder, an arm(20) having a longitudinal cooling water pass hole, a post(30), and an insulating unit(40). An elastic member is installed between the cylinder and the interior of the holder so that the cylinder is automatically separated backward when released from the holder. The insulating unit comprises an insulating pad installed between the post and the arm, a fastening member passing through the post, the insulating pad, and the arm, and an insulating member installed on the outer surface of the fastening member contacting the arm and the post. |
