<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve characteristics of a phase difference detection pixel in an image pickup element. <P>SOLUTION: A micro-lens 351 collects light from a subject. A light receiving element 353 generates a signal for performing a focus determination by phase difference detection by receiving the subject light collected by the micro-lens 351. Light-shielding layers 381 and 382 are disposed between a pupil division light-shielding layer 391 which shields a part of the subject light for pupil-dividing and the micro-lens, thereby shielding a part of the subject light incident on the pupil division shielding layer 391. Further, the opening area of an opening formed by the light-shielding layers 381 and 382 is smaller than the opening area of an image forming pixel. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
