<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improved rear underrun protector that prevents a following crashed vehicle from entering a lower side in the rear of a vehicle. <P>SOLUTION: The rear underrun protector is characterized in that a stiffener built in the rear underrun protector connected and welded so that a pair of steel plate protector pieces each having a semi-U shape cross sectional surface is formed to have a closed sectional surface is composed in a semi U-shape or in a semi hat shape, a pair of side rack pieces of the stiffener is welded to an inner surface of a longitudinal wall of a protector piece at a vehicle approaching side to form a closed sectional surface, the stiffener itself is composed of a closed sectional surface, and a wall surface of the stiffener is welded to an inner surface of the longitudinal wall of the protector piece at the vehicle approaching side. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
